Control

I am a person with a great control need. I have always been the one who takes lead, who organizes, who makes lists and who always has control. Today, I made a great progress: for the first time in my life, I was not the one to hand in a group assignment. Instead, I let my friend do it. I know that I can trust her, and I really respect her and find her  ambitious and good in school. However, it was still a great challenge. To not have the control, not knowing everything, made me truly stressed.

Will I be able to let loose when I come to a new country? I hope so, and for the following two months, the time I have left here in Sweden before I travel, I will try to develop that side of me even further. It is extremely important to be able to trust your teammates, or else you won't be able to cooperate or be successful.

How do you do to practice letting loose and leaving control? I think one of the best ways is to do what I did today: challenging yourself by actually saying no to tasks and letting other people do them instead. Initially, it will be difficult, but you will be surprised when you see that the tasks still will be finished anyway, and hopefully, in an even better way than you expected.
